The way we perceive ourselves, often through the lens of others, can breed a sense of inadequacy. This feeling, like a relentless storm, can deter us from pursuing our purpose and from unearthing a version of ourselves that remains hidden. A version that God has planted within each of us, and only He can nurture. I've come to understand that inadequacy can be just as destructive to our purpose as pride and arrogance. I've wrestled with this feeling, and I continue to do so as God sculpts me into a better version of myself, a version I've yet to encounter.
Now, I understand that there are no shortcuts on the path of God's plan for my life. Once I embraced the responsibility to live in alignment with His purpose, I couldn't simply choose another path when I was designed for His. In the valley of patience, there are moments when I'm tempted to take the emergency exit and settle. To be relieved of the weight of anticipation for the destiny that I can envision so clearly, but am not yet equipped to reach. To comprehend the depth of my foundation for God's purpose for my life is a revelation beyond my imagination, but I acknowledge that there are no shortcuts.
