It’s been a revelation to me that what we often consider common-sense decisions in life are not always so common! For instance, in many personal experiences, I found myself making decisions based on societal norms or immediate gratification, only to realize later that they were not the wisest choices. This realization usually left me pondering: What was I thinking?
Reflecting on these situations, I often responded to the immediate need, oblivious to the sacrifices I made. I would hastily grasp at what seemed like a solution, only to realize later that it was a temporary fix with long-term consequences I hadn’t considered.
Through my own journey, I’ve come to realize that the actual need I was seeking was far deeper than what I could hastily grasp in those moments. I was yearning for a worthy goal, a guiding light. And in that quest, I discovered that the only genuinely worthy focal point for my needs was a relationship with God. I found my daily guide in Him, leading me to a life seeking purpose and fulfillment.
You know it is good to learn the lessons of God’s discipline and teaching by reflecting on our past.
To see that His mercies were not consumed because His compassion is unlimited.
For every new day is a chance to trust in His faithfulness.
Therefore, let us turn away from our prideful and sinful ways and turn to God. Let us surrender our hearts and our wills to God in pursuit of His Kingdom of Heaven. In this act of surrender, we will find true peace and fulfillment.
It is in this spirit that I pray,
God, define, direct, and develop me into who I need to become to do what you have destined me to do. This prayer is a reflection of my desire to align my life with God’s will and to be guided by Him in all my endeavors. It’s a humble acknowledgment of my need for His guidance and a commitment to follow His path.
This prayer is what I call “God Development,” which is the highest form of Development we can have. It’s a transformative process that occurs when the creator is involved. You experience God’s Development when you align your desires, actions, commitments, and faith with God. It’s a journey of hope and transformation.
‘That He would grant you according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might by His spirit in the inner person, that Christ may dwell in your heart by faith. That you, being rooted and grounded in love, the love of Christ, might be filled with all the fullness of God.’ This passage from the Bible (Ephesians 3:16-19) speaks to the transformative power of God’s love and the potential for spiritual growth and fulfillment when we align ourselves with His will.
