Living Through Adversity

We will find that life will not always be smooth sailing, and often, however, as followers of Christ, others view it as so. Yet, whether you follow God or not, life will be challenging at times; without a doubt, there is one thing we can count on, and that is adversity. In this life, we will face troubles, disappointments, tragedies of all kinds, tests, and temptations, alone or with others. But in that which we face, God can offer comfort or rescue in them all. That reassurance can come through reflecting upon times when you felt His presence, peace, or guidance amid your troubles. Our faith, our unwavering belief in God’s power and love, can be strengthened by reflecting on our past blessings from Him.

So, during troubled times, we must hold steadfast to our faith, our source of strength from God above, and keep our eyes and prayers fixed upon him. We must stand firm in God’s promises to dispel the fear that stems from our troubles, knowing that our prayers are heard and our faith is a beacon of hope.

Jesus teaches us that even faith as small as a mustard seed can yield tremendous results in our lives. This faith can help us see that our current struggles are temporary and that nothing is impossible. God promises that joy will come after our nights of weeping, offering a beacon of hope in our darkest times.

When we encounter crises in our lives, let us remain obedient to God, be diligent in prayer, and nurture our faith. Remember, God is not a distant figure, but our ever-present companion, always ready to support us.

I have found that in times of trouble, I turn my focus from that mountain, which represents my problems, to the one who is the author and the finisher of my faith- Jesus! This shift in focus reminds me of His power, love, and promises, giving me the strength to face my challenges with faith and hope.

Rest assured, he will demonstrate His unwavering, unconditional love and kindness, a love that surpasses all understanding and a compassion that knows no bounds. His love is a constant, a source of comfort and strength in our lives.
He will supply your needs.
He will listen when you speak to Him.
He will redeem you from all your shortcomings in life.
Just ask, and He will.
