Bible, Spirit, Life: Daily Words to Move You: “Complete Trust”

“Complete Trust”

The more time I try to understand God’s ways completely, the less time I have to enjoy and experience the goodness of His presence.

Complete trust is when we understand that we “DO NOT” have to understand precisely how God works to trust Him.

To trust fully in God means to rely entirely on Him in all aspects of your life, believing in His character, wisdom, love, and promises, even when circumstances are complex or unclear. It’s a deep conviction that He is trustworthy and has your best interests at heart.

Trusting fully in God is….

* Believing in His Reliability and Truthfulness: It means taking God at His Word, believing that what He says in scripture is true and that He always keeps His promises. You trust that He cannot lie and that His plans are perfect.

* Surrendering Control: Trusting fully in God often involves letting go of the need to control every outcome. It means recognizing that you cannot figure everything out on your own and that God’s assurance can replace your fear with peace.

* Having Confidence in His Ability and Strength: You believe that God is powerful enough to handle any situation, no matter how big or small. This includes your health, finances, relationships, and your future.

* Obedience and Action: Trust isn’t just a feeling; it’s a choice to have faith in what God says and to act in obedience to His will, even when it’s challenging. It means acknowledging God’s ways and then acting on them.

* Leaning on Him, Not Your Own Understanding: As Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.” This means actively seeking His guidance and wisdom rather than relying solely on your own intellect or judgment.

* Bringing Everything to Him in Prayer: Trusting God means openly and honestly communicating all your feelings, struggles, doubts, and desires to Him through prayer. Believing He cares completely and can handle anything you bring to Him.

* Finding Peace in His Presence: It’s realizing that both good times and difficult times are part of God’s sovereign plan. You trust that He will sustain you and guide you through anything.

* A Continuous Process: Trusting God isn’t a one-time event; it’s a lifelong journey. It builds your faith in Him over time as you witness His faithfulness and experience His provision in your life.

In essence, complete trust in God is a deep, abiding conviction that He is good, knows what is best, and has the power and desire to work all things for good, leading to a life of peace, contentment, and joy, even amid the most challenging circumstances.

“Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O Lord, do not abandon those who search for you.” ~Psalm 9:10
