“The Comfort He Gives”
“He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” ~2 Corinthians 1:4
Growing up, I was always told, ‘to be grateful and thankful, for there is always someone less fortunate than you!’
That’s why I believe so strongly in the fact that showing compassion, giving, and loving others, especially those who are less fortunate than yourself, is an act of love for God and His gifts to you, a way to show thanks for His loving comfort.
From the understanding of God’s loving comfort, we learn that being thankful, showing gratitude, and expressing compassion are essential attitudes to develop in our daily lives. This comfort is not just a feeling of peace, but a deep understanding of God’s presence and love in our lives. Not just when things are going good, but in all times, when we lose(for the opportunities to learn), when things are bad(for faith that God is with us), and when we give(for the joy it brings others).
When we spend time with God and in His Word, we can develop a mindset of gratitude and compassion, walking through life daily being thankful in all things, for this is God’s will, a guiding principle that reassures us of His love and care.
As the apostle Paul shares in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, “Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.”
