God Seeks Our Persistence, Not Our Perfection
There are days when we stumble so hard, doubt so deeply, or feel so broken that even looking in the mirror feels unbearable. Days when we feel like we’ve failed — as believers, as parents, as partners, as people. We begin to question our worth, our progress, and even our place in God’s love. But here is the beautiful truth: God never asked for our perfection. He asked for our heart.
God is not measuring our worth by flawless behavior, but by our willingness to return to Him — again and again. He’s not grading our performance; He’s watching our persistence. Our daily “yes” to Him — even if it’s whispered through tears, confusion, or self-doubt — is more precious to Him than a life lived trying to appear perfect.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed.” – Psalm 34:18 (NLT)
Your struggles don’t disqualify you. In fact, they often reveal the depth of your faith, because real faith keeps walking even when it feels unworthy. Real love keeps showing up even when it feels broken.
Remember, God’s love is not earned — it’s given. Unconditionally. Freely. Daily.
Jesus didn’t come for the perfect. He came for the weary, the wounded, the ones wrestling with sin and self-worth. He sat with the outcasts. He wept with the grieving. He forgave those who denied and betrayed Him. Why? Because He came to restore, not reject.
So on the days when it’s hardest to love yourself, lean into this truth: God still does.
“My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
I know this from my own story, and I want you to know that you’re not alone. You’re not beyond repair. And you are not a disappointment to God. He rejoices not because you’ve never fallen, but because you get back up — and keep walking with Him. That’s persistence. That’s what He’s after. And that’s what makes your journey so sacred.
